Under direct supervision, the Production Planner is responsible for production order management and daily execution on the shop floor. This job is the first level in the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. At this level, the Production Planner has limited autonomy to deviate from established processes, but is expected to develop their understanding of the principles necessary to exercise such judgment at the upper levels of the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. The Production Planner receives training to be able to plan and schedule routine orders for their assigned product lines and to resolve related problems affecting delivery for short-term (<30 days) planning horizons.
